Oh Gwen it's so nice to hear from you! Thanks for all of your sweet comments. I hope you are getting more summer up there now, maybe August will be kinder to us all in the northeast? I'm looking forward to your return to your blog. .. . .. you must have made tons of jewelry by now!

Hi Debbi, From what I see and read on your blog, you have been mighty busy!!! I love what you are doing and your subject matter. Gorgeous... It was exciting catching up on your drawing projects!

No summer up this way either.. just rain, rain, lots of fog, more rain and then a day or two of brilliant sunshine , blue skies and warm temperatures to tease us and remind us of what summer used to be like...

Congratulations on your latest show!!! Your work is phenomenal!!! such patience, delicacy and a keen eye..

I hope your leg heals quickly and you are back to doing all the active things in your life soon!! Gwen

Lynda, isn't that interesting that the shadows add depth...it's such a "staged" little piece. I wish you could drop by my studio as well.

Kendra, I managed to balance the rocks as they all have flatter spots that will rest easier. The set-up tumbled, however, probably from my cat jumping up on the table. That's interesting that your students had a hard time with drawing rocks. What was it about them that made it difficult?

The green-ish paper gives the drawing an interesting effect. I like it. How did you get the rocks to balance on each other like that? I had my Tuesday morning class draw beach rocks on the UArt paper. They found it very challenging. I didn't realize it would be so difficult for them. Looking forward to your next drawing!

I think this turned out very nicely Debbi, and it sounds like you like it better than you originally thought you would. The deep shadows in it lend alot of depth. As with all your pieces, I sure wish I could see it 'in person'!

Thanks Liz. It's nice to hear from you. I think the drawing works too. I'll be curious to see your work on a green pastelboard. I'm glad you're blogging again after such a long break!

I love what you're doing with these beautiful rocks, Debbi! The green paper does lend a cool, natural feeling to whole thing, though I can understand the challenges it posed for you. Not surprisingly, you succeeded! (You have also reminded me that I need to get some green Pastelbord... I've been meaning to try it!)
