Very nice painting, Debbi! So what’s up with all these colored pencil artists doing oil paintings these days? Dang it, I may have to give it a whirl, too. Nay… have to think about it for awhile.

I love these Beach stones and your wonderful shadows really bring your work to life…

and yes indeed the way light falls and its brightness, dimness and the angles and time of day… makes so much difference!!!

You definitely achieved your goals – the background shadows are more crisp and realistic, and the detail in the stones is amazing. To me, the complexity and depth of the shadows between the stones make it especially realistic.
