I am new to blogging, so my formatting is simple, but I hope you will take some time to read my posts, visit my website and leave a comment. I have been making artwork since my early years and absolutely love to create things. This is me holding my cat, Bernini Grigio, at left. I have another cat named Marco Polo. My two previous cats, Sophia de bell’occhi (Sophia of the beautiful eyes) and Leonardo Fidele (Leo the faithful) are the characters portrayed in many of my cat “adventure” paintings.

Here is a photo of Marco Polo in the birthday hat my younger son made for him. He is not very pleased with the situation, but he’s such a sweet cat that he doesn’t protest much in spite of his misery.

  1. There YOU are with Bernini……….nice to SEE you! I’ll have a favorite quote to share with you: “It is never too late to be what you might have been”, by George Eliot. It has meaning for me given my 20+ year ‘hiatus’ from my artwork.

  2. I like that quote, Lynda! Thanks. My son says that I now have to post a photo of me holding Marco. . . one of Marco alone isn’t good enough, according to him. So stay posted!

  5. Hi Deb,
I went on a friend of mine’s site, Kendra Bidwell Ferrara and saw her with you in a picture at a national event, congratulations. I went to Italy with Kendra and 8 other artists and I know you from high school. Janice Kirby? I don’t know if you remember me or not. I have retired from my job and paint full time now.I do not have a web site as I am not the techiest person.
Your work is amazing Deb. I don’t know if you like in Mass. still. I live in Cohasset on the south shore.Love to hear from you if you have a minute.

  7. Hi, Deborah – I’m embarrassed to say that I misplaced that file you sent me of the flier for your upcoming show. Could you please send it to the same email address again when you have time? Thanks so much – Jake Johnston

  8. Hi Deb! I loved your exhibit at the Wellesley library—just happened on it when I was upstairs at my New England Society of Botanic Artists meeting! I am excited about being able to pay for the balance of , and pick up my (almost “my”) rocks in the glass vase drawing! I have misplaced your contact info–like a phone # so I can reach you and arrange for pick up—so if you can email me (lhsur@aol.com) and/or phone me –508 655 0756—then we can proceed! Looking forward to getting my rock drawing!

  10. Hi Debbie,
I am a Wellesley parent who helped with Art Appreciation at Sprague School a few years ago when the children studied your work. I also saw your exhibit at the Wellesley library and loved it. Ever since, I was hoping that one day you might be able to paint a portrait of our family dog Clare. Is this the type of thing that you are still doing? My email is loraineohanlon@yahoo.com. Please let me know if you would be interested.
    Best,
    Loraine O’Hanlon
