Carolina Wrens roosting in winter
Every winter for the last three years, a pair of Carolina Wrens have been roosting at night in a small woven straw roosting “hut” hung on the side of our garage. They go in every day before dusk, first one, and then the other always follows within a minute. They spend the night there, except occasionally when they go out on the town for a night, as my son and I like to refer to their absence. I used to worry about them when they didn’t show up, but they always return.
