- The red-tailed hawk was at it again yesterday, and I have two new photos to post. The first one is with my regular lens, and the second photo is with the new telephoto lens I got for Christmas this year. I think this is a wonderful picture of the hawk, caught in full profile. Notice the large blood stain on the snow in the first photograph, which must be where s/he initially snared the squirrel. Since s/he is spending so much time in our yard, we’re thinking of names. Does anyone have any suggestions for a name for the hawk? (Other than “Killer”, which my son seems to like!) Let me know.

Actually, now my son suggests “Jimmy”. We really like the name “Martha” in recognition of the Beatles song “Martha My Dear”, which was actually a song about a dog that I think one of the Beatles owned. (Reference Postcards from the Boys; Starr, Ringo, Chronicle Books, 2004, p. 22).

Hi Debbi, I love your website! Not only do you have all your beautiful drawings exibited, but the quotes and the backyard photos are a nice touch as well. I am writing to remind you to find the name of the company that sells the acrylic sleeves. I lost that info. Thank you see you soon.Your favorite framer, A.J.
